Yep - no coincidence that three weeks ago I took up smoking again and now haven't trained properly for, oh how long? Three weeks???
i'm with you....they're crap crap crap... i never ever ever used to want a smoke until way after my work outs... now i'm craving when i get out of bed ... 3 days 3 days 3 days... why am i finding it so hard... if i really wanted to quit... dont u think i would?? So given all that i know, like it's killing me , it's ruining my immediate health and fitness..don't you think i'd just give the damn things up...
Sweetie, it's never that easy. I think you need to stop stressing over whether you should or shouldn't quit - it's doing your head in! I was bad yesterday and had one - quitting everything at once just got a bit too much for me. But I just had half of it, didn't really enjoy it as my body was starting to get used to not having it. I think the longer you can put off that first one of the day, the easier it becomes. I'm on the on-again-off-agian wagon at the moment too, it'll take a few attempts but I'm sure we'll both get there :)
The horrible thing about the smokes is that when you go off them you eat crap to compensate, so you make up your mind that it's better for your diet to smoke and not drink??? It's crazy, I know. I guess that's why I always try to do the whole lot in one go - too many things being given up for me to stress on any one in particular haha! That's probably why I was actually in a cold sweat trying to do my grocery shopping yesterday.
Sorry I don't have any grand words of wisdom or advise - just to take it one day at a time, keep putting off that first one. Tell yourself you'll have it at the end of the day - by the time you get there, you won't want it because you've been feeling clean, clear and fresh all day :)

well, i'm doing it again,... this time i'm not stressing and i'm takingit one day at a time... i'm also doing the tony robbins get the edge program ( do you want acopy)?? every morning and chanting positive affirmations. I've identified whyt i start stressing...and am trying to address it... and am aking it one day at a time, i have to approach this like i have fitness, ie you know like just don't throw in the towel because of one stuff up... fingers crossed for us both...
You can do it if you really want to Kat :)
This morning I was just about to through out an empty soft pack and discovered (as you always do) that there was one evil ciggie lurking at the back (why is there always one hidden???).
So I smoked it.
